Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about the RADIHALT EMF protection blanket. Can't find your answer? Reach out to our support team.
About the Product
The blanket uses copper-nickel alloy fibers woven into the fabric to create a Faraday mesh. When electromagnetic radiation from your devices hits this conductive mesh, the metal fibers absorb and reflect the energy, reducing the amount that reaches your body. Place it between you and the source — that’s it.
RADIHALT comes in two sizes: 18×18 inches ($22.16) for compact use with laptops and phones, and 36×30 inches ($26.42) for full lap coverage, router covering, or use as a baby blanket.
Each order includes one RADIHALT blanket and a care instruction card. No unnecessary packaging or filler materials.
No. The blanket provides directional shielding — it reduces radiation on the side touching your body, but your device’s WiFi, cellular, and Bluetooth signals continue to function normally on the exposed side. It’s not a signal jammer.
Very. The copper-nickel fibers are woven directly into the fabric, not coated on top. Unlike silver-plated fabrics that tarnish and lose effectiveness, copper-nickel alloy is inherently corrosion-resistant. With proper care, the shielding properties should last for years.
Materials & Science
Silver tarnishes when exposed to air and moisture, which degrades its conductivity over time. Copper-nickel alloy is naturally corrosion-resistant — it’s the same family of metals used in marine propellers, submarine hulls, and desalination systems. It maintains its conductive properties without special storage or handling.
Silver has slightly higher raw conductivity, but it tarnishes with exposure to air and degrades with washing. Copper-nickel offers excellent conductivity with dramatically better longevity and corrosion resistance. For a product you’ll use daily and wash periodically, copper-nickel is the more practical choice.
The simplest test: place your phone on a table, cover it with the blanket, and try calling it. You’ll likely notice reduced signal. For more precise measurement, use an RF meter (like a TriField meter) to measure emissions with and without the blanket between you and the source.
5G operates across multiple frequency bands. The copper-nickel Faraday mesh is effective at reducing RF radiation in the frequency ranges emitted by common consumer electronics, which includes many 5G bands. However, we don’t make specific percentage claims about any particular frequency — effectiveness varies with frequency, distance, and other factors.
Care & Maintenance
Hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent, then lay flat to dry. Do not machine wash, bleach, or tumble dry. The copper-nickel fibers are woven in (not coated), so they won’t wash out, but gentle care helps maintain the fabric’s overall condition.
Fold it and store in a dry place. No special storage requirements — unlike silver fabric, copper-nickel doesn’t tarnish, so you don’t need airtight containers or anti-tarnish bags. Many customers keep it folded on their desk or in a drawer.
With proper care, the copper-nickel fibers maintain their conductive properties for years. The alloy is inherently corrosion-resistant, which is why the same material family is used in harsh marine environments. The fabric itself will show wear before the shielding degrades.
